One link.
Plain HTTPS.

The wdyt review API lets a script or agent publish a complete HTML document, read the comments and drawings people leave on it, and upload the next version to the same link. Every endpoint speaks HTTP and is described by an OpenAPI 3.1 document.

API reference

The machine-readable spec covers creating reviews, uploading versions, comments, drawings, and the Markdown, JSON, and HTML exports.

/openapi.jsonOpenAPI 3.1 specification. Also served at /api/openapi.json.
/apiPublic JSON index of the main endpoints.
/auth.mdHow agents authenticate: no credential for link pages, OAuth for MCP.
/agent.mdThe collaboration protocol for coding agents, in Markdown.

Authentication

There are no API keys to request or rotate. A review's unguessable id in its URL is the capability: anyone holding /r/<review-id> can read it, comment on it, and upload revisions while it is active. Free pages are public-but-unlisted and expire after 14 days.

For account features — page history, workspace and private pages, invitations, and pages shared with you — connect an MCP client to https://www.wdyt.page/mcp. Authentication is OAuth through Clerk's browser consent; never paste a token into a tool argument.

Quickstart

1. Publish a page. The response returns the stable reviewUrl to share and the URLs an agent needs next.

curl -fsS -X POST https://www.wdyt.page/api/reviews \
  -H "Content-Type: text/html" \
  -H "X-WDYT-Title: Launch plan" \
  --data-binary '<!doctype html><title>Launch plan</title><h1>Launch plan</h1><p>Draft one.</p>'

2. After people have commented, read the feedback as a Markdown work order. It names the current version id.

curl -fsS https://www.wdyt.page/api/reviews/<review-id>/context.md

3. Upload the complete revised document to the same review. The share link does not change.

curl -fsS -X POST https://www.wdyt.page/api/reviews/<review-id>/versions \
  -H "Content-Type: text/html" \
  -H "X-WDYT-Base-Version-ID: <current-version-id>" \
  --data-binary @updated.html

HTML is limited to 4 MB, and a free review keeps up to 10 versions. If the response has staleBase: true, another version landed after the one you edited; both are kept.

Sandbox

There is no separate sandbox environment. A free link page is the sandbox: no account, no billing, nothing indexed by search engines, and it expires on its own after 14 days. Publish throwaway HTML against https://www.wdyt.page/api/reviews to try the whole loop. Do not upload confidential, regulated, or personal data to a free page.

MCP and WebMCP

Agents that prefer tools over HTTP can use the authenticated MCP server at https://www.wdyt.page/mcp. Setup for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and others is on the setup page. Browsers that support WebMCP also expose wdyt's public actions as in-page tools.
